Can't make any changes to board

PHP Version: 4.3.4
Server Platform: Unix, Linux, or BSD

Problem Description:
Hey, I instaleld this through Fantastico. When I try to save changes to the template look and other features I get page not found. I can access the admin pages but can't save any changes. It's trying to go to this URL..
http://thenaughtylist.net/naughtyforum/index.php?action=modsettings2. I know register_globals is turned off until the receive my support ticket. MAybe that's the problem? Anyone help?

Are Settings.php and template.php writable? (777)

Thank you, I am not sure. Is this something the host would have to set? Since I don't have all that much confidence in myself, I installed this through Fantastico. If I pull the template.php and settings.php, can I change things manually and upload the changes? I really just want to change the colors and the layout some.

Possibly, but it's also quite likely that you can do it through your FTP client.
