Safe Mode restriction error

YaBB SE Version: 1.5.5
PHP Version: 4.3.4
MySQL Version: 4.0.x
Server Platform: Unix, Linux, or BSD

Problem Description:
2: opendir(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 1137 is not allowed to access /home/virtual/site339/fst/var/www/html/dircomp/chforum/attachments owned by uid 48
(/home/virtual/site339/fst/var/www/html/dircomp/chforum/Sources/Post.php ln 1800)

what does this mean? anyone?
