Problem Description:
Is there any relatively simple way to archive the complete contents of a forum in such a way that people can view it without actually using YaBB, PHP, MySQL and all that?  It would be great if it could somehow be exported to text that people could view with word, for example.

Thanks.

It could be done, but it would not be simple in any way.

Hmm.  It seems like it'd be fairly straightforward for someone who is familiar with the database structure.

What I'm thinking is just a text file that just starts at board #1 and increments through all the threads one by one, then goes to board #2.  All the boards, threads, posts in one big line.

I'm surprised there's never been any interest in something like this...

That would be a really huge text file.

That would be a really huge text file.

It depends on the size of your forum of course.  ;)

Would it be especially larger than the .sql file backups though?  Both are just ASCII text, no?
