Board is slow Server or Boards?

Problem Description:
Well...

Our webhost is the not most reliable.  http://www.lowestcosthost.com in case any are wondering.

I am in debate whether or not the forums are at fault for this or the hosting.  The boards will seem to work okay for awhile then when you click on a thread it will take forever to load or not load.  It can be like this for a couple days at a time.  Then it'll suddenly start to work again.  This makes me say that our server that we are on is either slow with the MySQL or is borked is someway or another.

I am posting here to find the opion and thoughts of others here about it...and so that we have something to tell our host (back us up) at least a little.

I have run some optimiziations, updated to latest board, and kept with maintenance.  Lemme know what you all think.

Can you tell me the result of this query?  I've noticed it slowing down some forums before:

One thing I've noticed and some of the members have mentioned is that when they first go to the board they are able to view the first 3-5 threads fine and then it suddenly grinds to a halt making it impossible to open threads anymore.  This generally seems to be the case.  After the third or fourth thread viewed, you're pretty much done.

HyperLithium's doesn't seem to do that; in fact, it seems an okay speed to me.
