It wont work as the Forum is just for our Internal Use with our Intranet

When i add a user i am getting this below

2: mail(): "sendmail_from" not set in php.ini or custom "From:"  header missing
(c:\program files\apache group\apache\htdocs\yabbse\Sources\Subs.php in 448)

What does this meen

Go into your admin center by clicking the admin button. Click the forum preferences and settings link. Uncheck the following check boxes:

"Email Random Password to New Member Upon Registration?"

and

"Email new password if a user changes his/her email address?"

and

"Send welcome email to users when you do not have mail password turned on?"

Then click the save button. That should fix the problem.

What url did this error come from? What action where you doing when it happened?

Seems to be ok now

I tried to setup the forum to use SMTP mail but cannot get it to work

When i upload a pic and click the pic logo it still looks for the localhost in the ip address

where can i find the file on the server to change this

Go into installed mods settings and options in the admin center.

In there is an attachment url setting. Change that localhost to the ip.

As we are running this on a normal pc what would you recomend as a real server for this

also what data am i best to backup

Not sure what you mean. Are you asking what host I recommend?

Well in the admin center somewhere is an option to create backups of the board. Just use that.

Our internal webserver is only a P3 450

Would you recommend a higher spec

Well I am not sure about what kind of specs would be a good minimum.

When i try and send privert message over the forum i get this message

Go into your pm box, then click the preferences button. Uncheck the notify by email option.

All of these errors you are reporting are related to mail not being able to be sent through sendmail or smtp.

All functions that involve mail will give these types of errors unless you configure sendmail or smtp properly. Can't help you there though, I don't have a mail server installed, and havn't ever attempted to install one either.
