It has all the info you need to install a webserver as well as php and mysql.

You have 3 options, Apache, IIS, or PWS.

Personally use Apache, but it is your choice of which server to use.

Thanks so i will install Apache but for this forum software to work what else.

Sorry if i seem like i dont know anything but i want to try this out for my first time

You will also have to install MySQL and PHP.

Read the information on how to install Apache on that topic.

Then read the info on how to install PHP.

Then read the info on how to configure php with apache.

Then read the info on how to install MySQL.

Then read the info on testing out the new server.

Don't worry about it, there was a time when I had to first learn how to install this stuff as well. Although you are alot luckier than I was because there wasn't a guide for me to read like this. I had to learn it all on my own.

I would use 1.3.x - but the newest version of that.  Like I said in that FAQ.

1.3.x is that I would recommend... although personally I use Apache2.

I recommend you download the safe mode package here:

And then read "readme.html" ;).

Because it works if php has safe mode turned on or off. The normal one does not work if safe mode is on.

Ok Thanks

I have downloaded the file and now looking at the manual. I am lost now LOL

It says upload and create a directory on the server. As this server is only going to run on a Internal Network how do i get into the directory

Its Asking me to Install 2 files in ASCII mode and Binery Mode

What does this meen and how do i do it.

Also I have Unziped the safe mode zip file and want to know where this folder with all the files in should be stored on the HDD
