Unix.  While I'm sure there could be lists and lists of arguments over which is better, many windows hosts use IIS- and YaBB SE does work better in apache from what I've seen so far.

A *nix server may it be a BSD or Linux distro. Apache, is the better server and *nix servers are more stable.

Whoa whoa whoa... I have not seen anything here to suggest that YaBBSE runs better on a *Nix server than a NT server, nor have I seen anything to suggest that it runs better on Apache than IIS. I'm running mine on IIS5 on Windows 2000 Server, and it is running absolutely fine. I will agree that *nix has a more refined TCP/IP stack, but other than that, what are you basing your claims on???

There opinions. and as jay said, there could be lists and list of arguements.

But from some experiance and personal choice *nix and apache servers are better. and me nor anyone have made any claims

Agelmar think things over.

I'm also tossing in my vote for *nix and apache.  They have far fewer "quirks" :P

I've had problems with SE on my own IIS server...hence I'd say from my own experiance I'd go with a unix host; since of the installations I've done so far, all went (pretty) well.
