Has someone built a mod that automatically emails old users who haven't posted or haven't logged in for a while and reminds them to come back and gives them their password? I can't find it.

just don't give them their password, if they can't remember it, make them use the link in the login form, that'll send them an email with their question to remind them

i wrote a tool to list, email and delete inactive members
you can modify it a bit to send notices to inactive members

I would be careful about emailing old members.  Some hosts have a really strict spam policy (i.e. unfair) so if someone got an email and didn't like it, they could report it and get your host harrassing you about it.  My host, for instance, doesn't seem to care whether the email really was spam or not.  They said they would suspend my account anyway...

But if you have a good host, then I guess you don't have to worry about that.

Well, you could check the value of EmailAnouncement (??sp??)  If it is checked, then the members will get emailed, if not, then SPAM is not a problem.  Just make sure you put that disclaimer in your reminder email to enable or disable that check box about announcements.

This sounds like a great idea, I think I may have to make a mod now  ;D

I can vouch for that !
I slipped up and made a board an announcement board by mistake. One message going out was all it took and I was accused of spamming.
