Integration with User Directories?

Has anyone done or heard of any work done to integrate YaBB with a user directory, like LDAP for example?  This would allow you to leverage the user directory for controlling user name and password login to the bulletin board.  It would also open up some pretty cool stuff like the ability to use smart cards or other tokens to access the bb.  I work for a security software company so I was just curious.

ps.  If anyone has anything I can look at, I can also extend that work to include SiteMinder support.
