I looked around but I don't see a readme file or a help section for where I upload the SE files to?  Could someone enlighten me please?

Just go to the converter.php (via your browser) and go!

After you installed a YaBB SE of course!

Upload them to the folder of your choice.  I suppose we should have added some help or a readme, perhaps soon ;)

Upload the files and run install.php

ha ha...I'm almost afraid to do it.  I have a fairly busy forum with a lot of users.  Will my users see errors when this process is being done?  Should I do anything before the conversion?

Its suggested that you put your forum in maintenace mode, to stop YaBB from continueing to edit files. that that way you will only have to convert your files once.

But other wise your users wont see errors. if you dont go into maintenace mode. (also while converting your old files (if its YaBB1G or YaBB1G SP1) you might have to CHMOD your YaBB Folder to 777.)

Ok last questions...Which version should I download, the safe or regular?  I'm on a paid hosting provider not a free one?  The second question is I have 3 mods, sticky threads, file attachments, and a 3D template. Other little things like custom images and private forums. Should I have any problems with the conversion?  Here is a link to my site so you can see what it is like right now. http://www.performance-shop.com/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.cgi

You should be ok with the regular installer.

Sticky threads will be converted over.
Attachments will be lost
I have no idea about the third - but it sounds safe.

I don't think you should have any problems caused by those mods.

When u say "attachments will be lost" do you mean my current version which I can just turn on again in the new SE version or all file attachments that were part of a thread will be lost?  Will I have to repoint the new file attachment feature to the same directory again?

I mean that attachments that were previously part of a message will be lost - the converter doesn't import that data.
