I found the problem....
Rename your Global Moderators group anything but "Global Moderator" and see what happens.

If your Global Moderator membergroup is named ANYTHING else, the mod does not work.  This is why i was having a problem.  My GMs are normally called "Toothless Vic Vega"

I have tested and repeated this issue on PfaBB *AND* YaBBSE 1.5.1RC41 and RC42.

That's odd. I'll have to look into this, as $settings[7] should always be set as "Global Moderator". So I dont see why there's a problem now. I'll test it later anyway to see why there's a problem, but it doesn't make much sense anyway.

I finally got around to testing this! - And guess what! Yet again I found no problems. I can change the name of my Gmods to whatever I like and they can still see boards with Global Moderator as an allowed member group. So, I dunno what your problem is.

That *is* strange considering it does it in YSE RC44, too.  Remember, this is in a fresh install.

I know, I have it on a fresh 1.5.1 beta 44 install, and works fine for me. I cant see why it wouldn't work for you, it doesnt make sense. When you rename your global moderator group, do you put the new name in your allowed member groups, or the name "Global Moderator"?

I'm not sure what you mean.
I rename the GMs using the member group manger in the admin board, then I use the category manager to set permissions.  I use the little question mark pop-up to select which user groups are allowed.

Fantastic.  Just did a manual install on a previously modded 1.54 board.  seems to work perfectly.  Thanks.
