Was somebody flooding boards with empty PMs or something? Somehow I miss the significance of the language file changes. ::)

So does that mean it's SE 1.5.2 Finnish? ROFL

Since YaBB SE 1.5.1 Final wasn't so final, perhaps the YaBB SE 1.5.2 Finnish comment is a sign from above!  ;D

A big THANK YOU to all of you for working so dilegently; I appreciate your concerns for security, not to mention all of your hard work.

The update worked great!

I don't know of any other bulletin board that is so loyal to its work and customers and keeps on searching for bugs, security holes and anything else that can be done to improve YaBB SE. You guys show once again how much u care.
You guys rock!

Guys top work, the upgrades are done on all three of my boards, but can I ask a q? if I am asking in the wrong place you can hit me later, but....

Is cookie handling done differently? I have many users who were on a 1.4 board and they cannot stay logged in, I personally am having no problems, but I just wondered if anything major on the cookie handling side changed that you could tell me about to see if this is something I can fix....

thanks m@

This has indeed been changed in 1.5.1. The Settings.php file should now contain only $cookiename. In this cookie all settings are packed. Basically the cookie system still works the same as it did, only using a different name.

So by that, even though my members are trying say 20 times to log in and failing I should advise them to completely remove the existing cookie and start afresh to solve this?

thanks m@

Yes.

Most problems are now browser side, or relating to the server time.

Since Italian language file has not been checked by Antonio for 1.52, there is an error....

On line 2963 find

$txt['jsvalidate2'] = 'L'argomento,

and change with

$txt['jsvalidate2'] = 'L\'argomento,

Please YaBB SE Team to ask to italian team next time :)

We did.... and didn't get a repsonse soon enough.  Considering the security risk, and the fact that we had already informed the party who found the hole that it would be fixed that day, we had to get it released post haste.

As it was, I had to search for a person who spoke Italian, get the translation done, and release the packages with time for beta testing.  The process would have been much simpler if past differences could have been put aside, especially considering the fact that four sentences aren't anything that takes time to translate...

Perhaps next time we can work together better such that proper time can be alotted for beta testing.

I do, however, apologize for the incovenience to any who must apply this patch.

Thank you,

As one of the people that helped [Unknown] get some of the translation done, when one's usual resources aren't available, you do what you can to get a project done, especially if promised with a deadline.

You also need to understand that occasionally mistakes ARE made, after all, coders ARE human, and humans are prone and certainly entitled to make mistakes.  Rather than blasting someone, why not take a moment and thank someone, then kindly provide a nudge for help and/or fixes.  That little thank you will go one hell of a long way, trust me.

To [Unknown], Joseph, Jeff and the rest of the Mod Team/Devel team/Admin team, thank you.  This is one person that's happy to have 5 forums (so far) running YaBB SE.

I am only guessing that I just use the files in update.zip to replace my existing yabb se 1.5.1 files. Will that be it?

If so, what is the best way to back up my boards so that they can be easly recovered (in case of trouble)?
