This modifcation will remove the click log cleanly and completely.  This will, in most cases, make your forum significantly faster.

Please, however, do note that this will make it so that you can no longer see what browsers and so forth are coming to your site.

Updated.  Now affects the SSI calls as well.

It should be noted that this will not affect your monthly/daily stats.  It only affects that statistics that expire in 60 minutes anyway.

Bah.

Download http://gbaetc.homeip.net/yypack/remove_clicklog.mod.yp and upload it to your Packages directory.

I'll update package.list later, sorry.

If we apply this does it mean we can no longer use the SSI tags for displaying the most recent topics on our home page etc.

I need that feature but when I do not comment out the click_log my forum will not load even after I relaced the damaged click_log table in the sql database

This ONLY affects the click log.  SSI.php still works fine, it just won't affect the click log.

The click log is a log of recent clicks, which is cleared every hour.

Allright .. it seems I need to be instructed as you would a five year old ..

I've downloaded remove_clicklog.zip .. unzipped the files .. uploaded them to my 'Packages' folder .. changed the URL in remove_clicklog.mod.yp .. but the click-log has not been disabled

What am I missing?

Am running YaBBSE 1.5.1 Final/1.5.2

Thanks, Chris .. that did the trick.
Guess by now you can tell that was my very first mod that I installed.

GWP .. I wouldn't recommend setting the log to zero
I thought along the same lines and set it to 5 .. well it affected the amount of time that cookies were stored and could not log back into my forum .. I kept getting a "user does not exist" when I tried to log in, along with a long string of jibberish
I had to connect to the server using ftp and change the value back to its original setting in 'settings.php' .. and then I could access the forum again.

The quoted post may be a false alarm ..
it only happens when I try logging into my forum from my RedHat Linux 8.0 boot (got a dual boot w/ WinXP Pro) .. oddly enough that never happened before.
It may have something to do with my browser settings .. I'll have to look into that

I may also post the exact error message on here if the problem persists.

Does it affect the "Who is Online" Mod?
