Quote from: Dr_Michael on January 03, 2003, 08:11:51 PMI was not aware of it and now I cannot add it. Can someone moderator add it?

ok added!
Should we add phpNuke as well?

I would also suggest adding XOOPS even though a succesful conversion has yet to exist. I'm currently working on hacking YaBB SE to work with XOOPS but it will be a long time before it's successful.

My vote is for XOOPS

I am also working on building my own "CMS"* at Tywick.

*it's extremely static and doesn't even use MySQL yet.

does anyone know what www.yabb.it is using for a portal software. I asked them but they didn't tell me.

With this XP-Skin it really looks quite cool.

It does have that feel, yes...  But I don't see any mention of modules in the source.  I could easily be mistaken, tho.

I'm not sure if I trust portals any longer.

The portal I really liked was OK.
Someone gained acess to my YaBB SE through it.
My site was tottaly destroyed.

YES, I HAVE A BACK UP.  It's 2 weeks older than the crack that happened.  So I'm skeptikal; about reinstalling it.

I never got hacked under YaBB Gold SP 1 however.

Have faith Andy. Unfortunately you were caught up in a general attack on YaPP users from that Scorpion fellow (he was targetting YaPP users).

Get in touch with me privately if you'd like ;)

If you're gonna blab then lets tell the WHOLE story.  The fact that your site got hacked really has nothing to do with the fact that you were running YaPP now does it.  The story going around is that you used to be hosted by Scorpion and he got access to your site because you used the same password for everything.

cheers...........

Not that that's any excuse, it certainly doesn't give this Scorpion guy a right to go hacking people's websites. If anything it's worse -- if thats really what happened, then "Scorpion" violated the trust that comes with being a host of any kind (free or not, it doesn't matter).

I should add that I know nothing of the situation, so no one should take my words above as information. I am only making the point that there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for hacking someone's site/board/etc.

To be honest, David, what pisses me off most about it is that no one would tell anyone else what was going on.  The "rumors and speculation" came about due to a lack of knowledge.  That is downright pathetic.  We run YaPP sites and we can't get a straight answer about the issue and whether or not we need to protect ourselves?
