This was the thing YaBB needed for a long time. ;D, the voice thing would be really cool (msn messenger is just a pain in the ass)

One simple question. How do I get the chat to open in the same frame as my yabb is in?

One (hopefully) simple problem. I get an error in my index.php. but it is one not named before

Line: 1
Character: 203
Error: Expected ";"
Code: 0
URL: http://www.dodgyscene.nl/yabbse/index.php

Anybody?

Hi,
I need a german_full.js with no room-tabs only for the room www.sulfrian.de.vu and with the change to set a room-password form my homepage and the change to set a member-password for a specific member, so the he do not need a password prompt.

Thank you

Alexander Sulfrian

When you click the chat button, what does it say?

It should say....for example: -

www.mysite.com/yabbse/index.php?board=;action=chat;user=anyone

Yeah...I'm not happy with the chat loading into a different window either. It would be better if it loads into the same window.

And the next problem I'm having is when I go into chat I have access to other rooms. I noticed on The Rat Fan Club they are locked into just going into that chat. I'm pretty sure this has been posted before...but I think I must be tired and blind because I can't find it.

Can I somehow get the information of my room(usercount and users online) to my own server, because loading the data from USA(?) is pretty slow and it has to be done every time my members loads a new page, or can i only add this information to the boardindex?

To stop it opening in a new window is simple

Go to subs.php search for

$yymenu .= "$menusep<a href=\"$cgi;action=chat;user=$euser\" target=_blank><img src=\"$imagesdir/chat.gif\" alt=\"Chat\" border=\"0\"></a>";

***REPLACE WITH***

$yymenu .= "$menusep<a href=\"$cgi;action=chat;user=$euser\"><img src=\"$imagesdir/chat.gif\" alt=\"Chat\" border=\"0\"></a>";

I recommend using in your chat.php e.js$room=nameofroom$height=500&width=500

You can tack on paramfilename=german.prm at the end of the  query to load the german interface.

As far as the membership stuff, nothign we can really do there but take on a _something so that your members ahve unique username and password.

I am going to be adding the ability to set your chat room to not have rooms tab and also set a password on the actually interface so that your users can  be the only ones who have access to the room. Rather then manually adding every room in :) It will make my life and yours much easier.

Will post when ready.

One thing I have to mention is that when users can't access through a firewall, having the users online command gives a forum load time of literally minutes.

My fix has been to have a template (Skins Mod) that has no chat command.

Most firewalls have no problem as long as they are not blocking port 8000 on the chat. My applet automatically defaults to using http port tunneling if it sees a proxy/firewire listed in the header of a browser request.  90% of the time this holds true however, there are cases where firewalls hide this information so it is undtected.

I am thinking about offeing the ability to input your firewall and port for the applet but how many end user will really know this?

Nah m8, if you work for a company that are as security conscious as mine it will never work.

Not worth the hassle

However instead of a dif template a mod for the user to turn off chat in their profile so that the script wouldn't search for the unreachable would be good
