Add Icon and Link to Top Menu bar

I want to add an icon and link to the Top Menu bar.  The bar on each page that says "Home", "Help", "Search", etc.

I've very HTML illiterate and have no idea where to put this.  Can someone please help me out?

I'd like to make it look as seemlessly added to the menu bar so that it looks natural there.   :)
