My 1.4 board has been chuggling along quite well, but i am noticing it to start taking about a second before the first inital page comes up.  Only been doing this for the last week and wondering if i need to defrag or do something else to the database to increase performance ?

Try replacing the BoardIndex.php file with that from 1.3.1.

There is a MySQL optimizer out that will add indices to certain fields. You can find it here(I don't know if you can find it on YaBB's Site yet).  Also, I am working on a mod to help trim all whitespace in HTML and I am planning on some improvements for the queries.  Try replacing the 1.4 boardindex with 1.3.0/1

I got some speed problem too with 1.4
How/where download 1.3.1 ? I see only 1.3.0 in download, and the zip extract a .ya, no boardindex.php.

Down the safe version of 1.3 and use that.  It will do it just the same.
