I figured it out, and I apologize for being an idiot :-[
I somehow missed that the database entered during the coppermine install was supposed to be the yabbse database name.  Works now.
For another stupid question, how do our user access it?  Do we just need to stick  a link in somewhere?  Is there a yabb style button we could use for this?  Sorry for being a bit slow on the uptake ;)

I imagine it would require changing something in one of the YaBB SE scripts to get the gallery on the menu.  This is what Spaceman-Spiff did in his previously released mod that integrates Coppermine with YaBB SE:

http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?thread=14810

The easiest thing to do is change the template file so as to put a link or button somewhere outside of the YaBB SE generated menu buttons.  This is what I did:

http://www.ramosfamily.org

You can always use the button generator to make buttons that match the current YaBB SE buttons.

I see...

now that I read your reply, I'm thinking another thing could be done, maybe the gallery can be at the same server the forums are, so the db connections would be local, much faster and less trouble

the difference would be that the pictures could be saved at the other server... could this be done? can the script upload files or delete them if they're in a directory at another server? if it's via FTP, it probably can, if it's via HTTP I don't know...

I've just installed this and it works great!  But I have 2 questions:   ::)

1) Should the MySQL table prefix be the same as the one for my YaBBSE or should it be different?

2) Does anyone know how to import the "Latest Photos" thumbnails into an off-Coppermine shtml page?  When I use '<!--#include virtual="gallery/thumbnails.php?album=lastup" -->', I get broken image links and the Coppermine menu is also included.

Thanks for any help!

when you get the properties for the broken image, is the url correct?

maybe you should start the include path with a slash, that way you make sure it looks for the gallery directory from he root, like this:

<!--#include virtual="/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=lastup" -->

of course, this may not be the problem, but maybe it helps  :)

I'm sure this is something easy, but I have never used PHP before.  Any help with this error would be greatly appreciated. ???

No it shouldn't .. the prefix allows both programs to have tables that would otherwise be called the same. It does currently need to be in the same database though.

Heh .. Thanks Omar for getting there before me.

I have the honour of being part of the group that has taken over development of Coppermine. The current veriosn is 1.1.

The alpha version is 1.1d (the one with BBS integration).

The next version is 1.2, and is based off 1.1d. I do not yet have a release dat for 1.2 (but expect it before SMF). Ther are a number of good usability and bug-fixes in there, but do not expect any drastic changes .. this is being used as a learning period for the new dev team.

Integration with YaBB SE and (in the future) SMF are some of my pet concerns, so you can safely expect that area to get better & better.

I'm also getting the following error.. please help!

Warning: main(./Sources/Load.php) [function.main]: failed to create stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/karpathos/cm_gallery/bridge/yabbse.inc.php on line 39

Fatal error: main() [function.main]: Failed opening required './Sources/Load.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/www/karpathos/cm_gallery/bridge/yabbse.inc.php on line 39

I dont know if it can not find the Load.php file or something wrong with the code. I did notice the BD error and corrected it.
