Is there a YaBBPak file?  I didn't see any link to that...

Anyway...  What is the difference between "update" and "upgrade"???  If I used 1.5.3, do I "upgrade" or "update" my board?

An is there any modifications to the language files???  ;D

Ah nuts.

Looks like I'm going to have to go through the files, clip all my modded sections out then upgrade, then paste them all back in again. You see, these aren't 'official' mods, but ones I've written myself by and large.

Thanks for the help mind you, and thanks for getting my nick right!

I have downloaded v 1.5.4 and have burned it to the cd for safekeeping. But as I took this cd out of the cdrw, I noticed massive hole in the middle of it. Is this the security hole? And if it is, than it is massive one.

If we are running 1.5.3 and upgrade, how are we not going to lose all our mods?  It's overwriting the most commonly modded files.  Am I missing something?

I'm assuming I'm going to have to compare what I have with what's new somehow in order to retain everything I've done to my board.

I am currently running 1.5.3
I have dowloaded 1.5.4 but not yet installed it.
My question is 1.5.4 upgrade has a total of 6 php files.
Should I use telnet or ftp, or does it even matter?
Are there specific Chmod 's when uploading / upgrading these files?
Should I back up anything before making this update?

It shouldn't matter, but I'd just ftp in and overwrite those 6 files you had before.  As far as backing up, it's ALWAYS a smart idea to do that.  :)

I know it's been like 2 minutes (haha) but can someone respond to my question above when they get a moment? Thanks

I think this the best way unless you are sure that the Mods you have installed do not alter the newly files of 1.5.4 .. I usually use Beyond Compare do to let it do the comparing for me.
if you are running 1.5.3 you need to update only.
