You need to upgrade PHP or change $_COOKIE to $HTTP_COOKIE_VARS in the files it occurs in. I think its just Load.php but it might be LogInOut.php. This is mentioned earlier and in a few other threads so just do a search.

Keep in mind that YaBB SE does not support anything below PHP 4.1.0.

If you didn't want to do it why didn't you just say so?

Yet I did do so.  If you look, it says exactly what was changed next to 43.

I knew that. :-[

Sorry if this has been covered earlier, but is there any reason why the filenames in the upgrade/update packages seem to all have lowercase filenames instead of the mixture of upper and lowercase on the files they are meant to replace?

That should not be.  While there are many with lowercase filenames, the sources should almost entirely be capitalized.  (like BoardIndex.php)

Hmm .. the B43 packages were fine, as were the B42 packages when I re-tried them. I must have been doing something impressivley dumb  :-X

Some FTP programs, atleast smartftp, has an option that converts all filenames to lowercase when transferring them.

Nah .. it ws unzipped on the server, maybe the zip package I was using had a similar option I'd managed to trigger somehow - we may never know ..

Ahem....

I know this has been addressed some msgs ago, but:
I can't login to my board after upgrading to RC43 :'(
index.php keeps giving me the "database error, pls try again"

I already tried re-uploading all files and re-running upgrade.php - which was quite a hassle anyway (has anybody ever thought about the RENAME TABLE not being supported before MySQL 3.23.23??)

Any help is appreciated (the board is down for 3 days now :-[)

Louis 8)

PS: php 4.1.2 in safe_mode, MySQL 3.22.29 - just in case
