Hey Chris! Do you want to help the rest of us keep YaPP going after Eric releases v.6.2 in the next week or two?

It sure would help if we had one of the two original developers keeping up the code. I'm not a good enough PHPer to do it, and while I've got some folks interested, most of them are like me... passable at best with php.

Heck... if you keep your YaBB SE mods compatible with YaPP, we may just talk to you about incorporating them directly into YaPP. :)

I guess you havn't read the 0.6.2 announcment too thouroughly. I am not currently working on YaPP, I still have a project that me and Eric work on together, but Eric is working on YaPP by himself right now.

As for my mods, it isn't a directly possiblity... if they work with YaPP then it's ok... but if they don't I won't be rewriteing them so they do.

Even though I am not actively developing and coding YaPP, I do still hang around and help out as much as I can when I get some spare time.

I don't like portals. They are too restrictive. No offense to the YaPP guys, or anyone else, thats just my opinion.

How can they be too restrictive?  You don't YaPP's features?  Don't use them.  Easy enough to turn off the index page.  There are restictive portals out there, but most are additions to existing software, not replacements.

Skim my (very long) post in "What makes a good portal?" on this very board, and hopefully you will have a slightly better understanding of what I mean.
