Hi Guus,

I am sorry I havent had a chance to help you out, but have had major problems with my server.

Hi Diva,
I dont know where spiff is - but I also dont recall seeing him on yabb.info for a while now.

At this time the MOD is still beta and therefore should not really be used as a comlpeted mod. It is here for testing.

Hopefully when Spiff comes back we will continue to find problems and solutions - that way we can make this mod better.

Until then if you have a list of what you think are bugs then please post them on this thread and when Spiff returns he will be able to go through them one at a time.

I have a couple of bugs/issues that I will add to this thread tonight.

It will also be worth mentioning if you are on a free host, like Lycos for instance as free hosts can have funny PHP configs and it may be that they are the problem not the script.

Hope that helps.
Tony.

I've been looking around the boards and found out Spiff is taking finals right now so he'll probably be on later  this week or next week.
No Coyote...I don't have a free server. Just having problems embedding the gallery.
But I'm in no rush to have it working. My site was down for a long time because I was reconstructing it. So now  my members are slowly coming back since getting everything back up. So I am not really in a hurry. ;)

Oh...also. If one wanted  to post images...would they be prompted to enter their username and password on the gallery after they have already entered all that information to log onto the forum?

I don't think that my board is linked to the gallery at all. Isn't it suppose to call information about my member from my database?
I'm not a programmer but I guess I will try to see what I may have done wrong if anything.

Edit - -

I just registered on Spiff's test board and noticed he has a button for uploading images and an album list button. This  was not included in my zip.  ??? My question above was answered....sort of. But the mod is not doing for me what it is doing on Spiff's board.

Yes you are correct in thinking that the mod should extract the member info from the YaBBSE database.

From what you are telling me, I dont think you have integrated the mod correctly.

I would manually go over every step again - and see if you have missed out any steps.

I am sorry I cant help at the moment, but I am working on my own problems with my server.

As soon as I have them sorted I will try and help here ;)

Take Care,
Tony.

You have to create your own buttons and code them in if you want that...that's what he/I did.  His mod inputs text links where his buttons appear.

Oh...Well I don't know how to code. The gallery is just in "beta"...I'm sure Spiff will include all that in the final mod. I can wait. ;)

Do you know html?  All you have to do is reference an image as your link instead of plain text...I don't know php, but it was pretty easy to do that

The script is working albeit with many errors and ugly aspects...I have integrated it into YaPP, but I am having the following problems:

My main image is screwed up and my recent posts block is failing on a mysql error...I am pretty sure it is becuase the gallery mod is referencing the wrong directories.

Here is the link to my gallery now http://www.zerr.org/family/gallery/, if it would help anyone help me figure out how to fix this last little problem...the script is working fine, just not very pretty with the broken links and mysql errors.

OK here is what I was able to complete per the mod file and what I could not complete:

Mod Info - No changes needed
<ID>
Coppermine Gallery Mod
</ID>

<Version>
0.9
</Version>

<Mod Info>
change the string "gallery/" to where u install your gallery
</Mod Info>

<Author>
Spaceman-Spiff
</Author>

<Homepage>
http://www.monkey-pirate.com
</Homepage>

Edit the english.lng file:  completed/no problems encountered
<Edit File>
english.lng
</Edit File>

<Search For>
   $img['boardmod'] = $txt[boardmod1]; #BoardMod Center Logo
</Search For>

<Add After>
   $img['gallery'] = "Gallery"; #Coppermine Gallery Mod
</Add After>

<Search For>
done   $img['boardmod'] = "<img src=\"$imagesdir/boardmodlogo.gif\" alt=\"$txt[boardmod1]\" border=\"0\">"; #BoardMod Center Logo
</Search For>

<Add After>
done   $img['gallery'] = "<img src=\"$imagesdir/gallery.gif\" alt=\"Gallery\" border=\"0\">"; #Coppermine Gallery Mod
</Add After>

I think this edit is just a simple re-direct from the main YaPP index.php to the gallery script.  I was able to add this line even though I could not find the locations specified below and it is not really necessary as far as I can tell.

<Edit File>
index.php
</Edit File>

<Search For>
done   else if ($action == 'yabbinfo') { include_once "$sourcedir/Admin.php"; showYaBBInfo(); } could not find
</Search For>

<Add After>
done   else if ($action == 'gallery') { header("Location: gallery/"); } simple redirect
</Add After>

I was able to add the first edit, but not the second one because I was unable to find the search location...

<Edit File>
Sources/Subs.php
</Edit File>

<Search For>
function footer() {
done   global $yyboardname,$yytitle,$yyuname,$yyim,$yytime,$yymenu,$yymain;
done   global $yytemplate,$yycopyin,$yytemplatemain,$yycopyright,$settings,$yyVBStyleLogin,$yynews;
</Search For>

<Add After>
done   global $runningGallery;
done   if ($runningGallery) { $yycopyright = "<small>Gallery powered by <a href=\"http://www.chezgreg.net/coppermine/\" target=\"_blank\">Coppermine Photo Gallery</a> v1.0 RC 3</small><br>\n".$yycopyright; }
</Add After>

<Search For>
NO   $yymenu = "<a href=\"$scripturl\">$img[home]</a>$menusep<a href=\"$helpfile\" target=_blank>$img[help]</a>$menusep<a href=\"$cgi;action=search\">$img[search]</a>";
</Search For>

<Add After>
NO   $yymenu .= "$menusep<a href=\"$scripturl?action=gallery\">$img[gallery]</a>";
</Add After>

Anyone want to help me?

Quote from: PioneeR on December 01, 2002, 02:05:19 PMHave tried change this

   $templateFile = $boarddir."/template.php";
   if (!file_exists($templateFile))
      $templateFile = $boarddir."/template.html";
   include ($templateFile);

to

$templateFile = "/home/pioneer/public_html/yabbse/template.php";
include ($templateFile);

and it works now  ???

Weird...

I think everyone has figured out why this wasn't working. There isn't a "template.html" file. I had to do this also after changing $sourcedir/Subs.php (and all that) to ../Sources/Subs.php (and then some).

I made the mistake of installing Coopermine version because I have both versions working on my site. I did not realize that Spiff altered their version to work with the board.  I got everything embedded. It works!!! I'm so happy!!! ;D
It feels good when you figure things out.

Now to tackle this Oscommerce script. They are not as helpful in their community as this one.

I love the Yabb SE community ;D

My job is not done.

When entering the gallery there is no admin button. I figured this might be because you should be using the gallery admin...right?

Well when I go to  www.mysite.com/community/gallery/admin.php
I get this error:
You are not allowed to access this section
This is when I'm logged in as admin.

Also the username does not show up in the welcome message that says Hey, User , you have 0 messages, 0 are new.

I don't know if anyone else has had this  problem...but I read the entire thread and didn't see anything relating to my problem other than maybe Thunderace. ???

I am not sure how to perform the following:

run 'Gallery0.9.mod' in BoardMod

The file I have is GalleryInstaller_V0.9.mod

What is meant by BoardMod? When I try to run it up comes winamp and I get "corrupt file or unsupported module type"

I already have a version of Coppermine running outside of YaBBSE - any way to connect the two in a simple method?

You really are a noobie. Well I can help you on that. Goto this site http://boardmod.yabbforum.com/downloads.php
Download the newest version because it works with YabbSE.
You need to install the gallery that is included in the zip for everything to work. I made that mistake myself. and create a gallery folder in your forum directory and install the gallery there.

Did you install Board Mod...it is a program.
I think you just have to extract the zip and then put the gallery mod file into a folder in the mods directory that is created when you extract the BoardMod zip. You should read the README file because it will help you. It is pretty simple.
