I am interested in peoples feedback on how we can make this mod better. Soemthing will be hard because we are dealing with many different messages boards with their own DB and one centralize DB here on my end.

Is there anything people think would make this better? Really interested from people who ahve checked it out and decided not to implement it.

Just wanted to say thanks for this great mod. Brodle has been a ton of help setting it up and my members absolutely love it. I was using jPilot before and it just doesn't compare. Huge improvement IMHO.

Some additional information for translating the applet. you can add this paramter to the chat script code to translate the interface.

&paramfilename=german.prm
&paramfilename=dutch.prm
&paramfilename=spanish.prm
&paramfilename=nepal.prm
&paramfilename=greek.prm

so you would take it on to the full.js?room=nameofroom&paramfilename=german.prm

You can also contorl the fontsize now by adding &fontsize=13

I have also set the applet to auto load an html client if the java on someone's machine is broken so they can still get into chat.

Goose in the man.....

There's one small minor bug..
That when you click on the chat link.
Ut takes you to the login screen unlike
before when it would just log the forum
register member in and request a password.

If there a way pass this, that would be quite helpful.

The fix will be posted soon.

Any way to support proxies?

I'm behind a firewall, so, i can't connect from my work to a chat implemented this way..

I actually I have built in proxy detection built into the chat which should tunnel you through the web port if you have the normal chat ports blocked ( usually take a few seconds because the applet tries 7000 and 6667). However, one of the limitations of this detection is you must be passing your proxy address in the browser header information.  This could be why it's not tunnleing for you. If you could turn your java console on then try to join the chat and send me the result of the console I can see what we can do.

One alternative is to prompt you for your proxy information but most people dont know this. I can hard code your proxy information for your chat room you setup, I would just need the nickname you will use when you log into the chat.

First enable the java Console in Internet Explorer
Tools - Internet Options - Advance Tab - scroll Down and Enable Java Console

Restart all your browser windows.

Log into http://www.goosemoose.com/rfc

Let everything load and wait for a few. Then you can do a View - Java Console

what's the problem crimson red?   i don't have the '#users now chatting" part working, but i've got the chat runnin and i'm using the YaPP (0.6 version)
brodle, and everyone in the chat forum support room have been very friendly, and very helpful.

Coolmom: What did you add to the template? That is where the code will go to show the number of users. There shouldn't be a problem with that. Crimson is having a problem getting the users to autologin but I am guessing that is because YaPP changes how username is tracked. I'm looking into it right now.

 i embedded script into it's own page, to have chat on a seperate page since my number of categories and boards are so high.  
one of the guys in the support room helped me do it.  
first i tried it, i made a custom block and put the linking script that's on the everywherechat.com 's addchat page, into the block, and ran it that way. but it made my page too long..
so, i wasn't able to use your mod exactly, but i am runnin the everywhere chat now.

i'd like to have the mod workin for the chat, to put it on the boards, but, i dunno where to find the chat.php file to try it.  

the mod i'd REALLY REALLY like to get worked out is the collapsable categories as default for my page, since i have so many.  but, i've read that the current mod for that wont' work with the YaPP stuff.  so... hafta wait n see on that one.
