Title: [Beta 1.5.4] Coppermine Photo Album - YabbSE Integration Bridge V 0.9.2
Post by: jack-uk on July 06, 2003, 11:52:20 AM
This package allows you to make the Coppermine photo album software use the YabbSE user and group information, and the YaBB SE cookies for authentication.

This preforms a similar function as Spaceman-Spiff's photo gallery integratino mod, except that with this, things aren't as completely integrated, but this has no impact on the source code of YaBB SE, and just requires a configuration change on Coppermine - making upgrading either package a snap :)

Installation instructions are in the Readme.txt file in the package.

http://www.jack.org.uk/yabbse-stuff/yabbse-coppermine-092.zip (http://www.jack.org.uk/yabbse-stuff/yabbse-coppermine-092.zip)

Enjoy!

** Updated to 0.9.2

Thanks for this...having a few problems though:

Quote
Fatal error: Failed opening required 'bridge/yabbse.inc.php' (include_path='.;c:\php\includes') in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\vandalay\gallery\include\init.inc.php on line 146

the init.inc is having trouble including the yabbse bridge file....I have tried many combinations for directory links to try and resolve the problem.  Any ideas?

A Windows server  :-\

Has Windows 'helpfully' renamed the yabbse.inc.php file to something else, maybe?

jack,

No it was an include path problem...as i suspected...I fixed it a crappy way...i have a few other problems I noticed already:

session check failure when loggin out.

Code: [Select]
An Error Has Occurred!

Session check failure. Please try again.

profile link does not load the yabbse profile page...nor does it load the gallery profile page.

"users" link in gallery does not load the member list or anything very useful

Ahh, now I remember why I removed the Coppermine logout button :) There's a security feature in YaBB SE designed to stop exactly the type of thing that tries to do.

As above (I think)

Quote

Unfortunateley, there isn't anything like the Coppermine user nmanager in YaBB, I can't think of anything useful for this to do.

Ideas are welcome though ;)

Jack...yeah i agree with you so far...I will think it over...other than what I pointed out this script seems to work as expected.

(apologies for typos etc. at the mo, cos I am a little drunk ;) )

The way I have concentrated on bypassing these problems is to use SSI.php, and the menu function it contains in the coppermine template.

To do this reqires a few changes...
In coppermine/include/mailer.inc.php

rename the function 'smtp_mail' and 'server_parse' to something different (I use 'sm_smtp_mail' and 'cm_server_parse')& change all references to it (they are all in the same file)

edit SSI.php & change any reference to $language to $full_yabbse_path. '/' .$language and change $chklngfile2 to $full_yabbse_path. '/' .$chklngfile2.

Using the relevant functions from the YaBB SE menu is much simpler (and wil help give a consisyent feel to your site).

I installed your script last week on a test site and had no problems with it at all.  Just to let you know that it works without any errors.
Good job man!

Found a couple of bugs - nothing too major, both are to do with user groups. But I'm not gonna be able to fix them till tomorrow ..

If you have a user group with an apostrophe (') in it's name, members of that group cannot access Coppermine at all. This is probably an 'escaping' problem and I don't see it being too difficult to fix.

If you make changes to user groups in Yabb SE, settings for all custom groups will be lost in Coppermine. I haven't investigated this yet, but Yabb SE might be playing silly buggers with group IDs.

I'll try and get a fix for both problems available in 24 hrs or so, but now it's time for bed ;)

I have just installed coppermine, and uploaded the edited bridge files. However, I don't understand the bit in the instructions that says

Do what you need to do to make yabbse.inc.php readable by php.

What do I have to do here?

this means: CHMOD properly and see to it that the extension ".php" is parsed - you probably won't have to do anything special at all, just skip the step and see for yourself ;)

The Coppermine 'profile' is basically doesn't exist anymore when the bridge is in place.
To check if it's working :-

There are no code changes to make to YaBB SE to get this working, so that's why there's no references to the bridge in YaBB (and why it's not technically a YaBB mod).

I have fixed one of the bugs, you should now be able to have an apostrophe as a character in a membergroup name, and have members of said group be able to access Coppermine :)

Now at version 0.9.2.

I should have the other bug fixed, and a couple of nice additions (hopefully working 'profile', 'users' and 'logout' links) sometime over the weekend :)

Nope, I don't have a global moderators usergroup, only admins, registered, anons and banned.

I modified the include file and stuff, and there are no errors reported, so I'm still scratching my head here.

I don't quite understand this line.

Quote
6. Edit this and add 'define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'yabbse');' near the top (you will see where the other ones are listed - but make sure the yabbse one is the only one that is not commented out).

There aren't any other integration types in the file. I just added the line at the top of the include file, and this is what I have.

Code: [Select]

You have to use the development (beta) version of Coppermine. The stable releases do not have this functionality yet.

I thought this was an option already, but perhaps not. Anyhow, in index.php in your GALLERY folder, you could just put something like this in there:
Code: [Select]
if ($username == "Guest")
  fatal_error('Sorry, you have to be a member to view this feature.');

Or to avoid the sin of hardcoding the txt, use something like this:
Code: [Select]
   if ( $username == 'Guest' )
      fatal_error($txt[1]);

You may have to global $username as well, though I would think it already would be...?

Oh, looks like that yabbse.inc.php file does some stuff with the guest things. Probably have to fiddle in there as well. I'm using the coppermine mod without this bridge and the code I posted works with that, but this is a bit different now that I looked at it. I can fiddle with it a bit to get it to work, or if someone has the answer right away they can post it. :D

In that yabbse.inc.php you could try this...Find:
Code: [Select]
       /* If the user is a guest, initialize all the critial user settings */
        if ($username == '' || $username == 'Guest')
        {
          $result = db_query("SELECT * FROM {$CONFIG['TABLE_USERGROUPS']} WHERE group_id = ".YS_GUEST_GROUP);
      if (!mysql_num_rows($result)) {
         $USER_DATA = $default_group;
      } else {
         $USER_DATA = mysql_fetch_array($result);
      }
          define('USER_ID', -1);
          define('USER_NAME', 'Guest');
      define('USER_GROUP_SET', '('.YS_GUEST_GROUP.')');
          define('USER_IS_ADMIN', 0);
          define('USER_CAN_SEND_ECARDS', (int)$USER_DATA['can_send_ecards']);
          define('USER_CAN_RATE_PICTURES', (int)$USER_DATA['can_rate_pictures']);
          define('USER_CAN_POST_COMMENTS', (int)$USER_DATA['can_post_comments']);
          define('USER_CAN_UPLOAD_PICTURES', (int)$USER_DATA['can_upload_pictures']);
          define('USER_CAN_CREATE_ALBUMS', 0);
      mysql_free_result($result);
        } else {
      if ($settings[7] == 'Administrator' || $settings[7] == 'Global Moderator')
         $cm_group_id = ($settings[7] == 'Administrator') ? YS_ADMIN_GROUP : YS_GMOD_GROUP;
      if ($settings[7] == '') $cm_group_id = YS_MEMBERS_GROUP;

      if (!$cm_group_id) {
         $sql = "SELECT group_id ".
               "FROM {$CONFIG['TABLE_USERGROUPS']} ".
               "WHERE group_name = '". $settings[7] . "'";
         $result = db_query($sql);
         if (mysql_num_rows($result)){
            $temp = mysql_fetch_array($result);
            $cm_group_id = $temp[0];
         } else {
            $cm_group_id = YS_MEMBERS_GROUP;
         }
      }
Change to this:
Code: [Select]
       /* If the user is a guest, initialize all the critial user settings */
        if ($username == '' || $username == 'Guest')
         fatal_error($txt[1]);
/*        {
          $result = db_query("SELECT * FROM {$CONFIG['TABLE_USERGROUPS']} WHERE group_id = ".YS_GUEST_GROUP);
      if (!mysql_num_rows($result)) {
         $USER_DATA = $default_group;
      } else {
         $USER_DATA = mysql_fetch_array($result);
      }
          define('USER_ID', -1);
          define('USER_NAME', 'Guest');
      define('USER_GROUP_SET', '('.YS_GUEST_GROUP.')');
          define('USER_IS_ADMIN', 0);
          define('USER_CAN_SEND_ECARDS', (int)$USER_DATA['can_send_ecards']);
          define('USER_CAN_RATE_PICTURES', (int)$USER_DATA['can_rate_pictures']);
          define('USER_CAN_POST_COMMENTS', (int)$USER_DATA['can_post_comments']);
          define('USER_CAN_UPLOAD_PICTURES', (int)$USER_DATA['can_upload_pictures']);
          define('USER_CAN_CREATE_ALBUMS', 0);
      mysql_free_result($result);
        }*/ else {
      if ($settings[7] == 'Administrator' || $settings[7] == 'Global Moderator')
         $cm_group_id = ($settings[7] == 'Administrator') ? YS_ADMIN_GROUP : YS_GMOD_GROUP;
      if ($settings[7] == '') $cm_group_id = YS_MEMBERS_GROUP;

      if (!$cm_group_id) {
         $sql = "SELECT group_id ".
               "FROM {$CONFIG['TABLE_USERGROUPS']} ".
               "WHERE group_name = '". $settings[7] . "'";
         $result = db_query($sql);
         if (mysql_num_rows($result)){
            $temp = mysql_fetch_array($result);
            $cm_group_id = $temp[0];
         } else {
            $cm_group_id = YS_MEMBERS_GROUP;
         }
      }
And then take that code out of the index.php in gallery that you add.

Untested, no idea if it'll actually work.

I don't know .. that is more of a straight Coppermine question, than something with my bridge. A guest user is handled as part of the standard 'Anonymous' group in Coppermine (or at least, should be - if it's any different, it's a bug & please let me know).
I actually have very little experience running Coppermine (the bridge was wwritten & mostly working within 24 hrs of me first installing it ;) ), so can I suggest you ask that on the coppermine forum at http://www.chezgreg.net/ (http://www.chezgreg.net/)

ok this code will disallow guests from viewing the members gallery even if the members set their albums permissions to every body (public album).

Edit init.inc.php and add

Post by: arturoramos on July 23, 2003, 11:02:50 AM
The problem that I mentioned above with the session check failure, and other issues have been fixed in the bridge file.

The updated version 0.9.3 is available at:

http://www.ramosfamily.org/yabbse-cm-093-wip.zip

This version integrates the following changes:

1. Fixes the definition of web path to YaBB SE Board directory.
2. Adds integration of user language preference.
3. Fixes redirect urls for login, logout, edit users and edit user profile.
4. Adds session ID information to redirects to avoid session check failures.

The version also includes instructions on enabling SSI.php support so as to allow the use of SSI.php functions, such as the YaBB SE menu, in Coppermine templates.

yeah, it is
require_once("/home/warcraft/public_html/forums/Settings.php");

I think there is a typo in the script that is causing this problem!  Can you try this and see if it works:

Find the following code at the bottom of the script:

Code: [Select]
if (!UDB_CAN_JOIN_TABLES) {
        $UDB_DB_LINK_ID = @mysql_connect(YS_BD_HOST, YS_DB_USERNAME, YS_DB_PASSWORD);
        if (!$UDB_DB_LINK_ID) die("<b>Coppermine critical error</b>:<br />Unable to connect to YaBB SE Board database !<br /><br />MySQL said: <b>".mysql_error()."</b>");
}

and change
Code: [Select]
YS_BD_HOST to
Code: [Select]
YS_DB_HOST
Can you also post your problem on the Coppermine forum?  There are more hackers there working on the bridge script who may be able to help if this doesn't work.  Anyhow, we can use your feedback and help in debugging the script.

No it is not.  The gallery needs to access the user tables from the forums database and it can only do so if they reside on the same server.

Havent looked at the mod, but you could try copying the settings.php to the server that the gallery is on, changing the mysql server host to the domain/ip of the server that the forum runs on and pointing the bridge to the settings.php you have created. Not looked at the mod so I have no idea if that will work, but its worth a go.

Oh you may need to set up the mysql server to accept connections from the server the gallery is on as usually its restricted to localhost.

I see...

now that I read your reply, I'm thinking another thing could be done, maybe the gallery can be at the same server the forums are, so the db connections would be local, much faster and less trouble

the difference would be that the pictures could be saved at the other server... could this be done? can the script upload files or delete them if they're in a directory at another server? if it's via FTP, it probably can, if it's via HTTP I don't know...

I figured it out, and I apologize for being an idiot :-[
I somehow missed that the database entered during the coppermine install was supposed to be the yabbse database name.  Works now.
For another stupid question, how do our user access it?  Do we just need to stick  a link in somewhere?  Is there a yabb style button we could use for this?  Sorry for being a bit slow on the uptake ;)

I imagine it would require changing something in one of the YaBB SE scripts to get the gallery on the menu.  This is what Spaceman-Spiff did in his previously released mod that integrates Coppermine with YaBB SE:

http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?thread=14810

The easiest thing to do is change the template file so as to put a link or button somewhere outside of the YaBB SE generated menu buttons.  This is what I did:

http://www.ramosfamily.org

You can always use the button generator to make buttons that match the current YaBB SE buttons.

I've just installed this and it works great!  But I have 2 questions:   ::)

1) Should the MySQL table prefix be the same as the one for my YaBBSE or should it be different?

2) Does anyone know how to import the "Latest Photos" thumbnails into an off-Coppermine shtml page?  When I use '<!--#include virtual="gallery/thumbnails.php?album=lastup" -->', I get broken image links and the Coppermine menu is also included.

Thanks for any help!

when you get the properties for the broken image, is the url correct?

maybe you should start the include path with a slash, that way you make sure it looks for the gallery directory from he root, like this:

<!--#include virtual="/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=lastup" -->

of course, this may not be the problem, but maybe it helps  :)

No it shouldn't .. the prefix allows both programs to have tables that would otherwise be called the same. It does currently need to be in the same database though.

Heh .. Thanks Omar for getting there before me.

I have the honour of being part of the group that has taken over development of Coppermine. The current veriosn is 1.1.

The alpha version is 1.1d (the one with BBS integration).

The next version is 1.2, and is based off 1.1d. I do not yet have a release dat for 1.2 (but expect it before SMF). Ther are a number of good usability and bug-fixes in there, but do not expect any drastic changes .. this is being used as a learning period for the new dev team.

Integration with YaBB SE and (in the future) SMF are some of my pet concerns, so you can safely expect that area to get better & better.

Anyway, my biggest concern is I need to install a button on my yabbse menu so the usres can access the photo gallery. Can some one help me with the code.

I was using the correct versions....seems that I left a  " ' " in the tag...  :o So that part is fixed...

But I do have another problem.... if I go over to the gallery and try to log out, I get an error..

here is the error link I got when logging out while in coppermine..

http://www.cruez.com/coppermine/logout.php?referer=%2Fcoppermine%2F

Also the user manager will not come up... I'll have to doublecheck to make sure it was uploaded, but I don't see why it wouldn't be..  ???

So far I think that is the only problem I have....now I just have to get my forum pics corrected.... and some links made into the forum and the gallery...

Ok I have it working ok is it normal for the users list and edit profile pages to both give errors as I presume there is no data for these related to coppermine as it users the YaBBSE login.

Also my normal users on my forum are not in a member group on the forum, this means that when they goto the gallery they cant upload because it says there are no albums they are allowed to use. Do I need to put all my normal users into a membergroup on YaBBSE for this to work?

Also I am using 1.5.1 but as its not a YaBB mod as such didnt think this would cause any problems?

Ugh .. not sure, cos I'm a little drunk at the mo ;)

Best wishes for the season, BTW ;D

But .. IIRC, all the changes necessary in Coppermin are in include/mailer.inc.php. Also, SSI.php needs to be modified slightly.

Simply a couple of functions need to be renamed - there are only a couple of calls to thise functions so it isn't oo major.

The problem is that functions of the same name as those in Yabbse are defined

in Coppermines include/mailer.inc.php :-
Change all references to 'server_parse' to 'cpg_server_parse', and all references to 'smtp_mail' to 'cpg_smtp_mail'.

Also, in SSI.php, there are several lines similar to :-

include_once ($language)

or
include_once ($chklngfile2)

these need to be changed to

include_once ($full_yabbse_path. '/' .$language);

and

include_once($full_yabbse_path. '/' .$chklngfile2);

respectivley.

I think that is all I had to do when I last fiddled with it ;)

It is working if you do not need to loginto the gallery after logging into yabbse. You will need to have 'Enable local storage of cookies' in YaBB SE turned OFF.

Also, you appear to be using an old version of Coppermine.

Download the latest version of coppermine from http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/ (http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/) - this includes the latest version of the bridge.

Uncle,

I ignored the readme file when I had a look at the script in the install.php file.
If you run that script it will prompt you online for the settings etc. I didn't edit the yabbse file at all.

I do recall reading something about cookie problems on Coppermine forum and they recommended NOT suing the same cookie name as YaBBSE.

I just checked my cookie name for Coppermine and it's
cpg11d - NOT - YaBBSE

Something strange is happening.

I integrated the latest version of coppermine with yabbse.

It works fine, except:

When I click on a link I made in coppermine to take the user back to the forum it logs them out.

If I instead type the url to the forum in the address bar of the browser it doesn't log them out and works fine.

The same is true in reverse.  When I click on a link I made to take the user to coppermine from the forum, it logs them out.

However, when I type type the address into the browser manually it stays logged in.

Any ideas?

Thanks

2. modify for yabbse.inc.php in bridge and init.inc.php in include following what the readme file says http://www.varesestore.it/community/photoalbum/docs/README.html

The only thing you need to change in yabbse.inc.php is the first 'require_once' line. This should point to your YaBB SE Settings.php file. The bridge reads this file &picks up all the configuration info it needs from there.

If you have a bridge file asking for Cookie information etc., you have a very old version of the bridge. Upgrade to Coppermine 1.2.1

Ok, i'll try.

This is what the coppermine (1.2.1) readme says

Integrating the script with your bulletin board
Coppermine can be integrated with the following bulletin boards (eg. Coppermine and your bulletin board will share the same user database)

phpBB 2
Invision Power Board
vBulletin
YaBB SE
The login integration use your bulletin board cookies, therefore it won't work if your board cookies are not visible by Coppermine. So unless you are an expert, keep things simple and install Coppermine and your bulletin board on the same domain. Example :

Bulletin board:http://yourdomain.com/board/
Coppermine:http://yourdomain.com/gallery/
If you are using phpBB 2, go to the admin control panel and check that "Cookie domain" corresponds to your domain, "Cookie name" is "phpbb2mysql" and "Cookie path" is "/".

If you are using Invision Power Board, go to the "admin control panel / board settings / cookies" and check that all fields are blank. If they are not, you modified the default values and you are an expert.

If you are using vBulletin, go to the "admin control panel / vBulletin options / HTTP Headers and output" and check that the value for "Cookie Domain" corresponds to your domain and that "Path to save cookies" is "/"

It is also recommended that you use the same database for your board and Coppermine.

You will also need to perform the following operations after having unpacked the archive on your harddrive and before uploading the files to your webserver :

Edit the file include/init.inc.php. At the beginning of the file you will find the following lines :

// User database integration
// Uncomment the applicable line if you want to use it
// define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'phpbb');
// define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'invisionboard');
// define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'vbulletin');
// define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'yabbse');Un-comment the line that corresponds to the bulletin board you use (eg. remove the "//" that are at the beginning of the line)

define('UDB_INTEGRATION', 'phpbb');The go to the bridge directory and open the file that corresponds to the bulletin board you use (eg. phpbb.php).

At the beginning of the file there are a number a configuration values that need to be set. For phpBB they are the following :

// database configuration
define('PHPBB_DB_NAME','phpBB');     // The name of the database used by the board
define('PHPBB_BD_HOST','localhost'); // The name of the database server
define('PHPBB_DB_USERNAME','root');  // The username to use to connect to the    database
define('PHPBB_DB_PASSWORD','');      // The password to use to connect to the database

// The web path to your phpBB directory
// In this example http://yoursite_name.com/phpBB2/
define('PHPBB_WEB_PATH','/phpBB2/');Modify them according to the configuration of your board and save the file.

Upload all files onto your webserver and run the install script. Note that the admin username and password you enter during the installation will be ignored by the script. To login as an admin, you will need to use the admin username and password of your board.

Once you have completed the installation, login using the admin account of your board. Go to the gallery, enter admin mode and click on the "Groups" button. This will synchronize Coppermine groups with those of your board. The permission you will see for each group will be completely messy, so take some time to set them properly.

Each time you add or delete a group in your board you will need to do the operation above in order to keep the synchronisation of the groups.

When you will try to login / logout or manage users from Coppermine, you will be redirected to the corresponding page of your bulletin board. Once the login or logout is performed you won't be redirected automatically to the gallery because your board does not have any function for that. It's up to you to add a link on your board to get you back to the gallery.

if i don't follow the instructions php asks me to define variables...

Hi,

First of all, my english is verry simple but I'll try to eksplane my problem. It's seems that you have to first have to install this board and have a datebase with Yabb users. In my case I have already install the Cooperman PA and want to install this yabb board and make it integratet with my Cooperman.

How to do that?

Regards from
Terje

OK I know this topic has been beat to death but from everything I've read I seem to have a unique situation.  I installed yabbse 1.5.5 and everything is working fine.  I installed coppermine 1.2.1 and integrated it with Yabb and everything is working fine except now I can't logout from either Yabb or Coppermine.  I always get the Session Check failure error.  I have read many many posts and this should be fixed according to the posts.   Plus I don't understand why installing Coppermine would break my Yabb logout button.  Can someone please please help.  I've read every post I can find about this topic and can't figure it out.  I'm assuming I can turn off session check in the SSI.php file but I don't think this should be necessary according to what I've read.   Help Please!!!! ???

Not easily, I don't know of anything that will do that.

Yes, this used to be a problem with a logut button in Coppermine.

It can't - it doesn't go anywhere near the YaBB SE code.
The security check is based on your PHP session number. Make sure that PHP is still dealing with sessions properly & it should just work.

jack-uk thanks for the quick reply.  As I sit here and ponder my problem I suddenly realize what an idiot I am.  I made a mod to Subs.php right before I added coppermine.  Everything appeared to be working correctly but I must of broke something.  I'm positive this is my problem and will take care of it tonight when I get home.  I'm sorry to waste your valuable time thinking about my problem.  I love the coppermine bridge.  Thanks so much.  My install went flawlessly except for this problem which has nothing to do with the bridge.

WIth the impending closure of this forum, I'd like to move all support for this bridge to the Coppermine forum.

There will also be a bridge for SMF released shortly (unless I get side-tracked again).

For future support of Coppermine issues with YaBB SE, please visit the COppermine forums at http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/board/index.php (http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/board/index.php) where I am known simply as Jack.

I am also jsut called Jack on the SMF boards too

Thanks for all your support and comments on this project :)

Jack
