[Done 1.5.1] Karma Notification via Pm

When you install this mod, everytime someone changes karma, a PM is sent to that person with certain information, including the page that it's sent from.

I know that this works, the mod that is. The only thing I don't know about is whether or not the mod file works, since I haven't tested it out. I need just one person to try it out, and say that it works, then I can go on with improvements(such as the message string coming from english.lng)

Karmanotify.mod

BTW, this is written for YSE 1.5.1.

EDIT: I've edited the file, and it now works on a clean install.

I might recommend you use $txt and the language file for any textual data... ie. "I have smited you", etc.

Wiziwig, just look at it.  It does.

I can do that, and yes, it sends messages for both applaud and smite. The reason I implemented this on my board was to curb people smiting each other so often. It looked really dumb having a bunch of people with negative karma, and it only served to make people mad because they didn't know what they were doing wrong. Now if you're going to smite, you have to think twice about why you're smiting, because they'll be able to tell exactly where you smited from, and who you are. I made it clear that counter-smiting is not allowed though.

Anyhow, I guess in the 'next version' so to speak I'll change things to use the language file. Any other nitpicks that you have?

Is there an on/off box for this in installed mods etc or must it stay on once installed?

It stays on once installed. You could always uninstall it if you don't like it. ::)

Or wait til I improve it with such. I don't have time right now though - I have to get ready for school.

Hmm...ok, it seems that this doesn't work when trying to install it. It seems that boardmod doesn't like how I did my file. I'll have to rethink it. I'll probably fix it tonight, but late though.

I think I still have it laying around somewhere...I hope. :P

I'll put it back up if you want it.

edit: It's at http://63.138.254.78/karmanotify.mod

I'm not sure that it'll apply itself to the forum properly. I could check though.
